Dean began his practice in the insurance defense arena in actions as varied as defending doctors in medical malpractice actions to defending property owners in premises liability actions and car accident litigation.  After eight years of serving as an insurance defense attorney, Dean turned his sights to the representation of injured individuals in the same types of actions he was defending and has never looked back. As a result of his representation of litigants in a multitude of cases, Dean has been involved in the resolution of hundreds of millions of dollars of personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, sexual molestation, and business litigation actions. It is his belief that his service as insurance defense counsel prepared and trained him well towards the service of injured individuals involved in the same circumstances.

Dean’s litigation experience has significant depth and breadth and to limit his activities to one area of litigation is simply impossible. Not only has he litigated cases in the areas of personal injury and business litigation, but he has also had significant experience in cases as varied as premises liability actions, sexual molestation cases involving children, car accident litigation, domestic relations and even felony criminal cases. As a founding partner in the firm of Jenkins|Dedmon Law Group LLP, Dean is committed to litigating and trying cases for catastrophically injured individuals regardless of their situation in life. He devotes his practice to personal injury and business litigation, representing plaintiffs throughout Tennessee and Missouri in actions relating to motor vehicle accidents, nursing home neglect, wrongful death, premises liability, sexual molestation claims, business litigation (both plaintiff and defense), and domestic relations.

For the last sixteen years, Dean has also served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Dyersburg, Tennessee, exercising both municipal and General Sessions Criminal Jurisdiction. In this capacity, he has heard cases involving a myriad of issues ranging from minor property ordinance infractions to premediated first degree homicide preliminary hearings. He is a continuing member of the Tennessee Municipal Judges and the Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conferences, having served upon working committees for the organizations in the past.

Dean graduated from the University of Mississippi before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. He was admitted to the Tennessee State Bar in 1996 and Missouri State Bar in 2011 and has earned admission to the U.S. District Court for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth and Eighth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
